In a world where external achievements often overshadow personal growth, fostering students' inner strength and social emotional skills is paramount. This interactive session delves into the principles of Inner Excellence as outlined by Jim Murphy, offering educators practical tools to nurture these qualities in students.  We will explore strategies to make our students better learners and us better teachers.

This session provides educators with strategies to support secondary English learners (ELs) with limited or interrupted formal education (SLIFE). Participants will explore literacy development, scaffolding techniques, and culturally responsive teaching to enhance student engagement and comprehension. Through case studies, hands-on activities, and collaborative lesson planning, educators will learn to differentiate instruction and create inclusive learning environments. Attendees will leave with practical tools to accelerate language development and improve academic success for SLIFE students.

This session provides educators with practical strategies to manage challenging  parent interactions while fostering collaboration. Participants will explore communication techniques, conflict resolution methods, and ways to set healthy boundaries. Through real-world scenarios, and discussions, attendees will develop skills to de-escalate conflicts and build productive relationships. By the end, participants will leave with actionable strategies to enhance parent engagement and create a more positive school environment.

This session will equip educators with strategies to integrate Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) in tech-driven classrooms. Participants will learn to create digital SEL resources using tools like Canva to support students' emotional awareness and self-regulation. Teachers will gain practical skills to address the challenges of the digital generation, including attention issues and social media influence. The session includes hands-on activities, peer collaboration, and real-world applications to ensure educators can apply these tools effectively in their classrooms.

In this interactive workshop, participants will explore how to create a psychologically safe classroom environment that promotes student growth, emotional well-being, and academic success. We will examine strategies for grading based on mastery, how to foster and increase students' SEL skills while decreasing teacher stress.  We will also explore the importance of building a community of accountability, where both students and teachers take ownership of their learning and well-being.   Participants will walk away with an action plan and tools to ensure students achieve and teachers thrive.

This presentation will explore effective Social Emotional Learning (SEL) activities tailored for the World Language classroom. Participants will discover practical strategies to integrate SEL into language lessons, fostering emotional awareness, empathy, and communication skills in students.
