About me
Michele Vinnie brings to the job a wealth of experience in secondary mathematics and is currently the Mathematics Curriculum Leader in Hampton City Schools. Previously, she served as a mathematics specialist, math teacher, CLT leader, and instructional leader at both the middle and high school levels at Benjamin Syms Middle School, Kecoughtan High School, and Hampton High School. Her courses taught included Course II, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II classes. She has been recognized as an exemplary educator having been voted as Labor Leadership Award winner (2018), a Significant 7 Woman by Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. (2015); Hampton City Schools Teacher of the Year (2014-2015); and, a Hampton Roads Top Ten Teacher (Hampton Roads Magazine, 2012). Mrs. Vinnie earned her Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Christopher Newport University while playing Women’s College Basketball. She went on to earn her Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Teacher Leadership from Regent University.
Mrs. Vinnie is also a motivational speaker and is highly sought-after throughout the Hampton Roads Area - providing inspirational messages of empowerment, overcoming challenges, and goal-setting through spoken word, poetry, and audience engagement. She has the innate ability to reach out to those WITH WHOM she interacts and INSPIRE people of all ages to be positive and productive!
