Dr. Cason has 18 years of experience in public education, all in Hampton City Schools. Before becoming the director of student services in 2021, she served in the role of a professional school counselor at Eaton Middle School and director of school counseling for Phenix PreK-8 School, and as the on-time graduation specialist at Kecoughtan High School. Dr. Cason is currently at Hampton University teaching masters and doctoral level courses. Prior to her career in public education, she was a vocational rehabilitation counselor and rehabilitation case manager (Career Options, Inc.), a counselor (The Center for Sexual Assault Survivors), and a parent education facilitator (Healthy Families Partnership). Cason is a proud product of HCS graduating from Bethel High School in 1995.
